no, its not all about oil, but over the last 5 years our oil (sand) industry skyrocketed, and grew exponentially through investments and increasing interest. Before the it wasnt very economical to separate the oil from sand, but now (thanks to investment and tech) its cheaper then importing it from the other side of the earth. Of course, we sell our water, uranium, lumber, and agriculture... some of which still have unresolved deputes involving NAFTA and its interest in fairness. but oh well...
